Enjoyable Days of the Tour to Mount Kailash

After arriving at Kathmandu airport, we have obtained assistance from the pilgrimage representatives and escorted us to the hotel. During the entire evening, we really enjoyed delicious meal and ensure that everything is packed and ready for the mount Kailash tour the next morning. The next day, from Nepal, we reached Hilsa by helicopter and took a drive to Taklakot.

The holy pilgrimage of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra started by taking small treks as a preparation for the trip to mount Kailash. A drive to the holy Lake of Mansarovar from Taklakot gave a first view of the lake and the mountain. We took a holy bath and performed a pooja before proceeding to Mount Kalish, which is actually forty kilometers from Mansarovar. Then, we took a short drive at Ashtapad where we were able to see the best and the closest view of Kailash, which is actually the starting point for kailash parikrama or inner Kora.

The inner parikrama or inner Kora is actually a very special parikrama. We were taken to the base of Mount Kailash’ south face. Such walk is more rigorous and scenic and the mount Kailash is very visible throughout the journey. All yatris can even touch the holy mountain’s base and understand the secrets of mount Kailash. The pilgrims or the yatris need to complete 13 outer parikramas, which is the requisite for the inner parikrama.

Pilgrims also enjoyed trekking from Dirapuk to Zuthulphuk and although it has been noted as one of the most complex and difficult journey all throughout the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra since yatris need to trek up to eighteen thousand six-hundred feet, it was really a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for me.

From Zuthulpuk, pilgrims need to take a short trek of about two hours then drive to Taklakot to Hilsa and then fly back to Kathmandu.

The Mansarovar yatra cost is very affordable, so anyone who would wish to experience a spiritual journey and join this sacred walks can really maximize their experience without breaking the bank. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has a spiritual meaning and great cultural significance to many people, especially for the pilgrims who are participating every year to meditate, be cleansed from their sins and enjoy a spiritual adventure that will surely treasure for the rest of their lives.
