Best places to visit in India

As we know, India has been divided into different states, each of which has a separate identity. Here is a list of all the top travel destinations of the country and the things to do in India.

Agra

It is only befitting that I mention Agra as the first in the list of the tourist places in India that are visit-worthy. Agra is a part of UP and has the Taj Mahal, which is one of the seven wonders of the world. An inspiration for writers, lovers and almost everyone who comes to visit this monument, is it made of white marble and is the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. Apart from this, there is the Sikandar fort that was built during the time of Akbar.

The city has a very rustic feel to it and the sweetmeats of the place are well renowned.

Other destinations: Agra Fort and Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah

Best time to visit: October to March

Goa

Goa is a small state that is located on the shoreline of India. It is one of the tourist attractions in India and you will get to see foreign influences in the lifestyle and culture that this state has inherited. There are many ancient churches that are present here, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, being the most popular among them.

As it is situated on the sea coast, the cuisine of the place is delectable and the nightlife worth witnessing. Staying here can be difficult as most hotels are booked at all times and thus you need to book well in advance.
